Program Description

This educational activity is designed to provide current information about the clinical value of TSH Receptor Antibodies, Clinical Applications and Clinical Relevance in thyroid patients. The connection between TSH- Receptor Antibodies and Clinical Applications and Clinical Relevance will be examined. Also discussed will be the recently updated guidelines from the American Thyroid Association and the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology for the treatment of Thyrotoxicosis and the Clinical Utility of TSH-R-Ab.

Intended Audience

This activity is intended for medical professionals who have a clinical interest in thyroid disorders as seen in the following medical specialties: endocrinology, primary care (IM, FP, GP), obstetrics/gynecology, cardiology, pediatrics, laboratory medicine, nuclear medicine, ophthalmology, neurology, psychiatry, and sleep medicine.

Educational Objectives

After completing the activity, the participant should be better able to:

  • Identify factors that aid in the diagnosis of autoimmune thyroid disease, including signs, symptoms, and various causes.
  • Distinguish between the physiological mechanisms of thyroid stimulating and thyroid blocking immunoglobulins.
  • Describe the diagnostic tools available to confirm or exclude a diagnosis thyroid disease.
  • Discuss the recent changes to the ATA guidelines for the treatment of Graves’ Disease.
