Opioid use disorder (OUD) in the United States and the exponential increase in opioid-related deaths represent a grim public health crisis. Despite the rise in opioid-related deaths, OUD remains undertreated.
Even patients who seek help face multiple barriers surrounding initiation and continuation of medication-assisted treatment (MAT), which has been shown consistently to improve outcomes in OUD treatment. This program's multidisciplinary expert panel presents strategies for clinicians and patients to overcome these challenges.
