Case study, presented in a text-based format with interactive questions and branched logic, will provide clinicians the chance to directly apply disease assessments and therapeutic strategies to new case-based scenarios. Each case scenario will include learning points from expert faculty discussing the evidence supporting the optimal treatment decisions and important considerations for partnering with patients in their care.
This activity has been designed to address the educational needs of rheumatology clinicians. This activity may also be of benefit to primary care clinicians and other clinicians involved in the management of patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA).
Upon proper completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:
Apply treat-to-target guidelines, including disease activity assessment and shared decision-making recommendations, to formulate treatment plans for patients with RA.
Compare the efficacies for targeted biologic agents and targeted disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs) used to treat RA with respect to their mechanisms of action.
Select appropriate treatment for patients with RA, including those with comorbid conditions, based on safety data.
