Program Description

This webcast is intended to improve care of patients with GLP-1 receptor agonists on glycemic control, weight reduction and cardiovascular outcomes in individuals with diabetes by accelerating adoption of new guidelines and evidence-based practice change. In-depth discussion of novel agents at various stages of clinical development will be given significant focus. This Internet CME activity is designed to provide clinical decision-making strategies for integration of novel therapeutic options.

Intended Audience

This webcast is designed to meet the educational needs of diabetologists, cardiologists, family medicine physicians, endocrinologists, primary care physicians, managed care specialists, and other health care professionals who diagnose, treat, and manage patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Educational Objectives

As a result of participating in the activity, learners should be better able to:

  • Evaluate the GLP-1 receptor agonist recognized glycemic control guidelines in the management of HA1c, postprandial glucose, fasting plasma glucose in patients with T2D
  • Cite efficacy and safety of GLP-1 receptor agonists in the management of weigh reduction and cardiovascular risks in patients with T2D
