This activity is provided by Global Education Group. Paradigm Medical Communications, LLC is the educational partner.
This activity is supported by an educational grant from Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation.
This interactive, case-based, web monograph provides a comprehensive review of psoriatic arthritis (PsA) and is enhanced by a pathophysiology video that illustrates how the cytokine network is active in inflammation, joint destruction, and new bone formation and how established, newly approved, and emerging biologic agents specifically target cytokine drivers of inflammation and joint destruction. Expert rheumatology faculty review diagnostic criteria, monitoring PsA activity, applying treat-to-target guidelines, relevant clinical efficacy and safety data for new and emerging agents, and the implications of comorbidities in managing PsA.
This activity has been designed to address the educational needs of physicians specializing in rheumatology. This activity will also benefit clinicians from the fields of internal medicine, family practice, and dermatology who manage patients with psoriatic arthritis.
Upon proper completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:
Describe/define the pathophysiology and classification criteria for psoriatic arthritis (PsA)
Link the pathophysiology of PsA with the mechanisms of action of new and emerging therapeutic agents, focusing on safety and efficacy data
Identify appropriate patient selection for optimal treatment of PsA
