Program Description:

Increasing influenza vaccine coverage rates means offering influenza vaccination at every opportunity, particularly for high-risk children, and educating parents about options and dosing. Well visits for back-to-school and sports physicals are excellent opportunities for immunization, and a sick visit should not preclude vaccination. This monograph provides science-based information about influenza immunization, options, dosing, and high-risk patients as a foundation in increasing immunization rates.

INTENDED AUDIENCE:

This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of pediatricians, pediatric nurse practitioners, pediatric clinical nurse specialists, registered nurses, and pediatric physician assistants.

  • Implement strategies to improve parent education about common misconceptions about influenza vaccination

  • For registered nurses only: Provide appropriate care and counsel for patients and their families
