Physician assistant Karen Graham, a faculty member at the University of Wisconsin-La Cross, has been awarded the Physician Assistant Education Association's 2015 Article of the Year Award. The honor recognizes a single, peer-reviewed publication by a PA educator on the topic of training and the educational direction of future PAs. Graham's work looks at why some PAs stick to the academic field while others eventually leave it to return to full-time clinical work. Her findings? Supportive work environments, autonomy, and a reasonable workload strongly increase the odds that a faculty member will stay for the long run.
