Program Description:
The role of B cells in GVHD is prompting research on the effectiveness of rituximab for this common adverse effect of allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.
INTENDED AUDIENCE:
This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of registered nurses and nurse practitioners involved in the management of patients with cancer.
Activity Objectives:
After participating in this activity, clinicians should be better able to:
- Explain how graft-versus-host-disease (GVHD) develops
- Discuss the current first-line treatments for GVHD
- Describe the mechanism of action of rituximab in GVHD
