This activity is provided by Haymarket Medical Education (HME) for physician credit.
This activity is jointly provided by Global Education Group and HME for nursing contact hours.

Program Description

Undertraining in dermatology for primary-care providers is a common phenomenon. Thus, primary-care clinicians need additional educational outlets devoted to the diagnosis and treatment of specific dermatologic conditions. For clinicians out of training, CME becomes the most accessible route.

Intended Audience

This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of primary care healthcare professionals who treat patients with various dermatologic conditions.

Educational Objectives

After completing the activity, the participant should be better able to:

For Cases #1 and #2

  • Differentiate between skin manifestations of allergic contact dermatitis and irritant contact dermatitis
  • Demonstrate proficiency in identifying and treating allergic contact dermatitis and irritant contact dermatitis

For Cases #3 and #4

  • Examine the etiology and clinical presentation of plexiform neurofibroma and eczema herpeticum
  • Formulate diagnostic procedures and treatment protocols for patients presenting with plexiform neurofibroma and eczema herpeticum

Conflict Of Interest Disclosure Policy

In accordance with the ACCME Standards for Commercial Support, HME requires that individuals in a position to control the content of an educational activity disclose all relevant financial relationships with any commercial interest. HME resolves all conflicts of interest in an effort to ensure independence, objectivity, balance, and scientific rigor in all its educational programs.

Furthermore, HME seeks to verify that all scientific research referred to, reported, or used in a CME/CE activity conforms to the generally accepted standards of experimental design, data collection, and analysis. HME is committed to providing its learners with high-quality CME/CE activities that promote improvements in health care and not those of a commercial interest.
