Program Description:
A 54-year-old Caucasian male with a history of multiple myeloma post–autologous SCT presents with increasing fatigue and progressive anemia complains of fatigue to his hematologist.
INTENDED AUDIENCE:
This activity is intended for hematologists, oncologists, and other health care professionals managing patients with multiple myeloma.
Activity Objectives:
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Discuss recent advances that can potentially prolong survival and improve quality of life in relapsed/refractory multiple myeloma patients
- Summarize the potential benefits of newer targeted agents and combinations in relapsed/refractory multiple myeloma patients
- Identify individual patient characteristics and variables that have a bearing on therapy and clinical outcome in relapsed/refractory multiple myeloma patients
- Adopt a patient management approach that is sensitive to prior drug toxicities and thereby improve achievement of treatment goals
